Berkeley Homes for Sale

Berkeley Park was originally a 1500 acre alfalfa farm, the Berkeley neighborhood has enjoyed the reputation of a place that enjoys clean air, quiet streets and its own small community. Bound on the south by 38th Avenue, on the west by Sheridan Boulevard, on the east by Federal Boulevard and on the North by I-70, Berkeley was originally known as "The Town of North Denver" but changed their name in the late 1800's as Denver proper slowly encroached towards the rural community. While there are quite a few William Lang designed Denver Squares in the neighborhood, most of the development occurred in the 1950's and 1960's.

Today Berkeley has two of Denver's nicest lake parks in Rocky Mountain Lake Park and Berkeley Park, complete with running trails, dog park, playgrounds and a branch of the Denver Public Library. The neighborhood also has three burgeoning shopping districts. The first, anchored at 44th and Tennyson, includes some of Denver's favorite restaurants and the Oriental Theater. As you stroll down Tennyson towards 38th you will walk down one of Denver's up and coming art districts and eventually run into the old Elitch Garden's, now called Highlands' Garden Village, a nationally recognized example of new urbanism. The third small shopping area is growing at 44th and Lowell, home to the icon Billy's Inn and Cafe Brazil.
