Once the place to live Edgewater is located West of Sloans Lake, Colorado and a short drive West from downtown Denver. This Jefferson County suburb features brick ranch style and two story homes on wooded large lots. The houses generally will feature cottage, bungalow, or old mansion styles with 2-4 bedrooms, 1-2 baths and basements. Many have garages and sloping yards. There are also numerous multi-family properties ranging from duplexes to apartment complexes in the 10 to 20 unit range.

The most widely known Edgewater event is the dragon boat festival which celebrates the Asian cultures present in the Denver area. The shopping center has a King Soopers as the anchor in a renovated pedestrian friendly setting. Coffee shops and specialty shops are nearby at The Highlands. The historic  Lakeside Amusement Park is nearby and is still fun for all ages.

The schools serving Edgewater are Edgewater Elementary, Lumberg Elementary, and Jefferson High School.
