LOHI is being formed in what was originally the city of Highland which also included Scottish Highland with the great curvy streets named Caithness, Argyle and Dunkeld.  After being incorporated into Denver proper, the neighborhood over the last 50 years was known for its tri-cultural roots with older Italian families, and newer Hispanic and Anglo residents adding to the diversity of the neighborhood.  Historic Denver did a wonderful project in the area with the restoration of all the great church steeples in the neighborhood which will be enjoyed for many years to come.

The LOHI neighborhood is bordered by I-25, Spear Blvd, Zuni and 32nd Ave.  It was once made up of turn of the century to 1950’s homes with architectural styles as diverse as Victorian, Craftsman, Denver Squares, and Tudor and now includes the modern lofts that populate the hillside. Although prices have risen dramatically in the past 10 years, Home Buyers are still able to find a diverse range of prices as well as housing stock from condos, townhomes, lofts and single family as well as low and mid rise multi units for the investor.

The neighborhood offers traditional, nontraditional and private schools like Bryant Webster, Trevista (Horace Mann), Denver North Institute of World Living, Contemporary Learning Academy, Academia Ana Maria Sandoval and Escuela de Guadalupe.  For recreation, there is the great 25-acre Commons Park with its state of the art skate board park as well access to the Platte River with bike and walking paths and kayaking chutes for summer fun.  Home to concerts in the park, views of the Denver skyline and close proximity to Denver’s sporting and concert venues, this area is a gem to be discovered and enjoyed.
