Park Hill is a gigantic area with a very diverse populace.  It all began in 1887 when Baron von Winckler plotted the original Park Hill development on 32 acres.  Today it extends from Colorado Blvd. on the west side to Colfax Avenue to the south, Quebec Street on the east and E. 52nd Avenue on the north.  The first homes for sale in the area were in 1900.  People from England, Denmark, Germany, The Netherlands, Italy and African Americans flocked to the area.

Quite naturally in an area of this size there are many different kinds of housing from small brick bungalows to huge mansions in prices ranging from $70,000 to very near $2 million.  This is a Denver real estate community where you let your fingers do the walking first.  Get on your computer search for 'Park Hill' and enter your desired price range then you can look at the many homes for sale and choose the one that is just right for you.

The 2000 census showed 26,422 residents in this community with 10,221 households.  Your neighbors could turn out to be one of the following well known individuals such as John Hickenlooper, the mayor of Denver or the jazz singer Dianne Reeves.  Two others who might still be in the area are Chauncey Billups the 2004 NBA finals MVP who played for the Denver Nuggets or LenDale White former NFL running back.

Park Hill is a place with a great deal of community spirit.  The Greater Park Hill Community is a non-profit organization founded in 1961.  This group of volunteers acts as a liaison between local residents, local businesses and the City and County of Denver.  They publish a monthly newsletter that is free to the residents, direct a Youth Jobs Program for 12-15 year olds to obtain summer jobs and operate an Annual Fall Home Tour event that has gone on for 30 years.

The Park Hill Golf Club is another integral part of the community with a mature course and banquet facilities that can accommodate up to 260 people.  If you want to be in the thick of things, this is the neighborhood for you.
