The following is a list of some of the neighborhoods and communities in Thornton Colorado. Thornton has 230 acres of open space, more than 40 public parks and a 72-par golf course, Thorncreek.
Thornton's location provides an excellent environment for business, recreation, and living. Located approximately 10 miles north of LoDo (downtown Denver), the city's location next to I-25 provides a high visibility area for business with quick access to multiple transportation routes. Additionally, Thornton is located closer to the Denver International Airport (DIA) than almost any other point in the Denver metro area.
During the summer and fall months, The City of Thornton offers a range of community activities, including a free concert series at the Northglenn Recreation Center each Friday evening, and the annual Thorntonfest in September. The festivities beign with a 5K run, followed by live music, food vendors, carnival rides and a car show.
